I redecorated the editing suite...

I was bored early this morning and decided to redecorate the editing suite back here like it was in the old days. Comic stuff and Paintings covering the walls, dolls with nooses around their necks hanging from the cieling, you know, the inspirational type stuff.

Edit: Sorry, no pictures of the batcave for the public at this time.

Some Baby Owls here in San Diego

Upon arriving in San Diego this weekend, I was made aware that there was a nest of baby owls up in a palm tree across the street from us. Fortunately the camera that I had on me at the time had a fairly long lens so I was able to capture them on video. Evil, but cute.

De-cluttering: List of DVDs for Sale

So I'm back in San Diego and I'm taking a day / night off to inventory the DVD collection that sits around and does nothing but collect dust here. It's amazing how much space it all takes up. Anyways, there's a lot of rare / out of print stuff in there, along with a lot of crap (that for some reason I liked for one reason or another). Click on "Read More" below to see a current list of what I have inventories.

As of right now, I haven't even started on the shelves yet, these are just DVDs that were sitting around in boxes and drawers. All of the DVDs are immaculate and the packaging is in Near Mint or Mint state, some are even still shrink wrapped. I'll take offers on individual DVDs (within reason, I'd rather these be limited to more valuable rare / out of print pieces), lots, or the entire thing. I also have the UPCs scanned for all of them that I'd be happy to reference if you're interested in seeing if something is of a particular print, just contact me with the request. I will continue to add to the list below and will denote when I am finished.

I'll also be happy to accept requests from valid libraries.

Going to clear out some stuff from the house in San Diego

So I have way too much junk in San Diego that sits there and doesn't get used at all, among them are over ~1,200 DVDs (Movies, Television Series, Box Sets, etc). All this stuff is taking up too much space and making things way too cluttered, so I'm finally going to listen to a certain someone and offload a chunk of it. I'll probably sell most on ebay, but I'm not too keen on selling all of the DVDs on ebay due to the size of the collection and how much of a PITA it'd be.

So, if anyone has any ideas as to how I could liquidate that many DVDs fairly easily, I'd appreciate the input. I'll probably sit down for a couple hours with a barcode scanner and enter in all of the Titles & UPCs to a database, so I'll have an easily parsible account of what's there. I've looked at some online liquidators, but I'm a little weary of using them. So if you have any ideas, please enlighten me.

I'll post any auctions resulting from the spring cleaning here when they go up.

Vertical Fever

I've began initial pre-production on a documentary focusing on the range of personalities which exist within the rock climbing community. I'm looking for a wide range of characters ranging from new climbers to those obsessed with climbing and whom allow it to dictate their lives / relationships with others. If you're a climber based out of the San Diego, CA or Raleigh, NC area and you think you'd make a good addition, go ahead and visit the website and shoot me an email.

San Diego Comic-Con 2008 feature nearing completion...

It was delayed a bit due to other projects that came up which took priority, but we're back on track with the post work for the San Diego Comic-Con 2008 feature (a humorous look at the range of personalities of the individuals/characters who attend and exhibit at Comic-Con every year and what motivates them to flock there). Finishing up the final color grading of the footage this week and will be meeting with others involved with the project in Southern California to finalize the cut next week. After that, the final editing touches will be put on and then it'll be released for mass consumption. Current plans are to distribute via DVD & Blu-Ray disc as well as a possible internet distribution through a service such as Amazon Unbox.

Speaking of color grading the footage, I was forced to switch mid-project from Magic Bullet Colorista to Synthetic Aperature's Color Finesse due to some issues I ran into. The great part is that Color Finesse is an outstanding product and is actually providing much better results than Colorista, the bad part is that I just didn't start with it in the first place. Live and Learn, at least I'll be using Color Finesse from the start on the next project.

If anyone is interested in screening it prior to general consumption and providing detailed feedback on it in return, go ahead and contact me and maybe we can work something out.

Crysis Warhead (PC) Review

When I loaded up Crysis Warhead for the first time (which, in a nice change of pace for an EA published game, was aquired through Valve's Steam distribution service) it immediately brought back fond memories of my first experience playing the original Crysis demo and the awe attached to it. Many games have come out since that rival Crysis in the graphics and gameplay department, but in my opinion Crysis set a gold standard for First Person Shooters and still holds it strong to this day.

Crysis Warhead is the first stand alone expansion pack for the 2007 hit Crysis by the German developer Crytek, creator of the breakthrough First Person Shooter, Far Cry. Crytek set a new standard for graphics, physics, interactive environments, and gameplay in the First Person Shoot genre with Crysis and they carry it on with Crysis Warhead. During Warhead, you play as Psycho, a character from the original game and take part in events which are occuring in parallel to the original story line, experiencing the effects of Nomad's (the protagonist from Crysis) actions taking place elsewhere on the island.
